A Conversation with the Inspector General
Bart Bevers -- Inspector General (I)
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson introduced Bart Bevers, the city’s first-ever Inspector General, in 2022. According to Mayor Johnson, the Office of Inspector General will monitor, investigate, and prosecute potential ethics violations. The office was established as part of the ethics reforms proposed by the mayor and passed unanimously last year by the Dallas City Council. But who are the parties involved? How is it enforced? And how does one report ethics violations, fraud, or abuse?
