Rise and Shine: Coffee, Connections, and Community in East Dallas
There’s no better way to shake off the Tuesday morning fog than with a fresh cup of local brew and the high-energy buzz of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce (GEDCC). This morning, February 10, 2026, the community gathered at Well Grounded Coffee Community at White Rock for our monthly Rise and Shine Networking Breakfast.
If you missed it, you missed more than just great caffeine—you missed the heartbeat of the East Dallas business scene.
The Venue: Well Grounded Coffee Community
Located on Garland Road, Well Grounded isn’t just your average neighborhood coffee shop. As a mission-driven space that empowers marginalized women through vocational training, it provided the perfect "feel-good" backdrop for today’s event. The atmosphere was cozy, the seating was packed, and the aroma of their signature lattes (the Honey Lavender is a personal favorite) kept everyone fueled.
The Morning Breakdown
The event kicked off at 8:00 AM sharp, and the room was already humming with activity. Led by the Chamber’s Live Local Committee, the Rise and Shine breakfast is designed to be approachable and high-impact.
Networking with Intention: We saw a fantastic mix of veteran Chamber members and fresh faces. The GEDCC has been aiming for record-breaking attendance this year, and looking at the crowd today—comfortably pushing into the 70s—we are well on our way.
The "Elevator Pitch" Parade: One of the highlights of these breakfasts is the chance for attendees to give their 30-second introduction. From local realtors and non-profit leaders to tech consultants and artisanal bakers, the diversity of the East Dallas economy was on full display.
Community Spotlight: We heard briefly from the staff at Well Grounded about their ongoing mission, reminding us all why "buying local" matters so much in our corner of Dallas.
Why You Should Be at the Next One
If you’re a local business owner or professional, these breakfasts are the "low-pressure, high-reward" entry point into the Chamber. It’s not about stuffy presentations; it’s about:
Direct Leads: I personally saw at least three business cards exchanged for immediate follow-up meetings.
Local Knowledge: You find out what’s actually happening in the White Rock area before it hits the news.
Supportive Environment: Whether you're a solopreneur or represent a large firm, this group is genuinely rooting for your success.
Pro Tip: If you're planning to attend the next one (every 2nd Tuesday!), bring at least 30 business cards and practice that elevator pitch. It goes by fast!
A big thank you to the GEDCC Live Local Committee and the wonderful team at Well Grounded for hosting such a productive morning.
